Emergency Services
Jasper County EMS is a Certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) Transport Provider with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, providing 24-hour emergency medical response, advanced life support, and ambulance transportation throughout Central and Southern Jasper County.
JCEMS serves a large and diverse response area extending across Central and Southern Jasper County, generally from County Road 400 North southward to the county line. Our primary service area includes the communities of Rensselaer, Remington, and Parr and all of Newton, Marion, Hanging Grove, Jordan, Milroy, and Carpenter Townships. JCEMS also serves the portions of Union, Barkley, and Gillam Townships located south of County Road 400 North.
Our service area includes approximately 25 miles of Interstate 65, from the southern Jasper County line near Mile Marker 199 north to Mile Marker 224 near County Road 400 North. This heavily traveled interstate corridor carries significant passenger and commercial traffic and represents an important part of our emergency response responsibilities.
From our stations in Rensselaer and Remington, JCEMS provides around-the-clock coverage to our cities and towns as well as rural communities, agricultural areas, major highways, and the Interstate 65 corridor. Our two-station deployment helps position ALS resources throughout the service area while allowing crews to support one another during simultaneous calls and larger incidents.
Our ambulances are staffed by EMTs and Paramedics prepared to respond to medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, motor vehicle crashes, cardiac arrests, and other time-sensitive emergencies.
As an ALS transport provider, our crews bring advanced emergency medical care directly to the patient. Depending on the patient's needs, care may include cardiac monitoring and 12-lead ECGs, advanced airway management, IV/IO access, emergency medications, pain management, respiratory support, and other advanced interventions.
Our role begins well before transportation. JCEMS providers assess, treat, and stabilize patients at the scene while determining the most appropriate destination and level of care. When specialized treatment is needed, our crews coordinate with receiving hospitals, specialty centers, air medical services, fire departments, law enforcement, and other public-safety partners to help ensure continuity of care.
For a medical emergency, call 911.
